My Favorite Things || Sam from The Peak of tres Chic

I'm thrilled to have Sam over today from The Peak of Tres Chic.    You all know she is one of my favorites because of her great decor style. She sure knows how to make a room unique  (I mean look at her headboard!).  She is just as sweet as she is beautiful! And add to that so hardworking.  I admire a girl who is studying, working, and blogging, all a the same time. This is a true go getter in my book.  So here are Sam's faves:

1 || Favorite Piece of furniture. My tufted headboard.  The minute I laid eyes on it in the store I was in love- I knew I had found my new bed!  It is lined with an antique mirror border and makes a dramatic statement and focal point in my bedroom.  My bedroom walls are lined with my favorite Old Hollywood actresses (Audrey Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot, Elizabeth Taylor) so the entire aesthetic of my bedroom is very glamorous and overstated.  Every time I walk in to my room at the end of the day, I love seeing this beautiful headboard decorated with my favorite Kravet throw pillows.

2 || Favorite piece of clothing. My striped scarf from Forever 21 is something that is draped around my neck most days.  I tend to stick to mostly black ensembles, whether it be for ease or in an effort to try and look chic.  Often I need just a pop of color to make my outfit less drab, and this scarf often does the trick.  It's the perfect accessory for me because it isn't too thick, which often bothers me with scarves, but rather acts like a bold necklace/conversation piece.

3 || Favorite Gadget. My Macbook Pro is definitely on my favorite things list.  Besides my iPhone, it's the closest thing glued to my side (sorry boyfriend!).  I guess most bloggers can relate to this one.  I purchased mine in 2007 and it's never had any problems or hiccups.  I think it's safe to say I've become rather emotionally attached to it.  The pink cover is fun, too!

4 || Favorite decor essential.  My collection of coffee table books.  They are my favorite item to receive as a gift, and the thing I most often purchase for myself!  I have stacks of them everywhere.  I like to flip through them while taking a nice long bath or if I'm in need of a bit of inspiration.  Coffee table books are my favorite way to decorate a surface, too.  I love stacking them and topping them off with fun tchotchkes.
