My Favorite Things || Gaby from the Vault Files

I love Gaby from The Vault Files.   Not only is she the sweetest, but she also has a great eye for picking the next cool trend before it is even one.  I love her styling tips and she always scouts the best products and pieces.  Plus, she also makes beautiful jewelry  (here). Can we say multi-talented?  I emailed her one day because I was intrigued by all this beauty she showcases daily and by her lifestyle as she was living on a remote island at the time.    After some email exchanges we realized we were actually from the same country! Small world!  So, of course this cemented my love for Gaby and The Vault files and is now and has been a daily must read for me (as in I don't leave my house without reading her blog first).

So with much excitement and admiration I present Gaby and her favorite things:

1 ||  Favourite piece of furniture. My West Elm Settee. I honestly don't know how this settee came home with us because it was not planned at all (you could say it was some sort of impulse buy!). After selling our old dinning chairs, we were looking for new ones and we just couldn't make up our minds on anything, and what we wanted wasn't completely available (it was a disaster!)  So one day, just before leaving West Elm with some goodies (I'm obsessed with West Elm) I had this thought of having this settee on one side of the table and chairs on the other….well, my husband totally bought it and the settee came home with us! You have no idea how much I love settees, so the fact that this piece (I named her Charlotte by the way) has a place in our tiny apartment is big for me ;)

2 ||  Favourite rug. After searching for the perfect rug for our dinning area for months and months, I found this beauty online and I'm in love with it. It is exactly what I had envisioned for the space. I'm so glad I was patient and that I waited for the right rug ;)

3 ||  Favourite Decor item in Matthew's room.  His toys trunk. I found this trunk while strolling on Queen Street here in Toronto and immediately fell in love with it. It reminded me of something you would find in Restoration Hardware, but without the hefty price tag, so it was a no brainer really!

4 || Favourite family jewelry.  My grandmother's ring. I had my eyes on this ring for a looong time, and the last time I saw my mom she surprised me with some jewelry that used to belong to her and my grandmother. There's something very special about wearing the "family jewels" don't you think? Even if it's just a simple chain, it has a very special meaning, so I love that she decided to give it to me, and I love wearing it!

5 ||  Favourite gift from the husband. My Elsa Peretti for Tiffany Cuff: My husband got me this cuff for our wedding anniversary this year and he really nailed it. I mean, you can't do better than a light blue box for your anniversary, right? But then the fact that he bought me the coolest cuff ever was just mind blowing. He caught me completely off guard!
